Published 22 days ago • 4 min read
Hi Reader,
Every once in a while we have the privilege of working with an author whose life story is just as compelling as the book they’ve written.
Today we are delighted to introduce you to Dr. Terry Gordon, whose powerful new novel My Love Will See You Through will be released next week.
Dr. Gordon is a nationally recognized cardiologist whose remarkable career in medicine spanned more than twenty-five years. Known by many as “The Conscious Cardiologist,” he dedicated his life not only to healing the physical heart but also to helping people explore the deeper spiritual truths that shape our lives.
His humanitarian efforts have earned him numerous honours, including being named The American Heart Association’s National Physician of the Year. His activism efforts to place automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in every junior high and high school in his county and spearhead a national campaign that resulted in legislation to recreate the Ohio School AED initiative on a national scale are a small part why we love Dr. Terry.
Needless to say, through this work and many other community initiatives, Dr. Gordon has saved countless lives.
Now, through his writing, he continues that mission in a different way.
His newest novel, My Love Will See You Through, blends storytelling with spiritual insight, exploring how love, hardship, and the choices we make shape the journey of our lives.
Ahead of the book’s release, Dr. Gordon shared some reflections about the inspiration behind the story and the deeper message he hopes readers will carry with them.
We hope you enjoy getting to know Dr. Terry Gordon.
A Conversation with Dr. Terry Gordon
Writing a story with such spiritual depth often feels like a partnership between the author and something greater. Did you feel guided while writing this book?
For much of my adult life, I have been blessed with what I believe to be Divine spiritual guidance. A silent voice has purposefully led me. My novel, My Love Will See You Through, has been percolating inside of me for more than two decades.
I never rushed its release. Early on, I made a conscious decision to wait until the manuscript confirmed to me that it was finished.
There is a natural rhythm to spiritual growth that cannot be forced. Much like planting a seed in the earth, no amount of coaxing will cause the tree to grow faster than the universe allows. Wisdom arrives when we are ready to receive it.
Writing this book was, in many ways, a process of listening.
You’ve shared a powerful metaphor about identical twins not being identical in spirit. How does that symbolism connect to the novel’s message?
Identical twins may look alike, but each carries their own unique soul and life path.
In My Love Will See You Through, two twin brothers are separated at birth and raised in very different circumstances. Their journeys illustrate how our choices, our struggles, and our inner compass shape who we become.
One brother appears to have everything the world values. The other must struggle through hardship. Yet as their lives unfold, readers begin to see that external success and true spiritual wealth are often very different things.
It’s a reminder that every soul walks its own path.
At its core, the book explores forgiveness and unconditional love. Why do you feel this message is important right now?
Our world today is deeply polarized.
People often become so convinced they are right that they forget the most important truth of all: we are all connected.
In medicine, I often reflected on the human body. It is composed of more than 100 trillion cells, and each one works selflessly for the good of the whole. Healthy cells know when to grow and when to stop so that harmony can exist.
Humanity could learn something from that.
When we remember that we are part of something greater than ourselves, compassion naturally follows. The message of this book is simple but profound: love and forgiveness are the only forces powerful enough to heal the divisions between us.
Was there a moment during your journey that changed how you see life?
There was a realization late in my medical career that profoundly shifted my perspective.
While interpreting electrocardiograms one evening, I began contemplating the electrical impulses created by the heart. Every heartbeat generates energy that travels through the body and outward into the universe.
That energy does not simply disappear. It continues outward.
In that moment I realized something extraordinary. The imprint of each heartbeat continues forever. In that sense, nothing is ever truly lost.
That understanding deeply influenced how I see life, love, and the enduring nature of the human spirit.
What conversation do you hope this book sparks among readers?
I hope readers begin asking deeper questions about their lives.
What truly defines success?
How do our choices shape the person we become?
What does it mean to live with compassion and humility?
Through the lives of these two brothers, readers will see that the one who appears poor may in fact be spiritually rich, while the one who appears successful may still be searching for meaning.
Ultimately, I hope the story encourages readers to look inward.
